Sorry for not keeping up on things regularly. It has been a little hectic and until today I could access this from only one computer and it doesn't have Internet access right now. And about pics ... I only this week found the charger for the camera so at least now I can charge the battery.
Granger decided he wanted to go to summer school to improve a grade and he got an A! Great job! He's visiting with his Dad now and will be back when school starts. The little ones miss him.
I got Kayla's STAR testing report today, 99th percentile nationally in reading! The lowest she scored was 93rd percentile. They gave me a suggested reading list for her level and it will be off to the library next week.
Walter and Kayla went to The Jungle today and Walt got a little crazy with the hand stamp. He has red splotches all over his face. He figured out that the stamped area on his arm would itself serve as a stamp and so before it dried he used his arm to stamp his own face in several locations.
House cleanup is progressing. The storage Pod in the driveway is nearly full. A dumpster arrives tomorrow for yard cleanup and to haul out the various bins of broken and outgrown toys and a couch or two. I am shooting to have Sears in to clean the carpets on Wednesday of next week and if that turns out in a satisfactory fashion we will start moving my stuff from the apartment in September. I hope to be completely settled by Halloween.
Holly and Chris were over a few weeks ago and were a huge help. This weekend is going to be a big push on the house for me to get the yards cleaned out and everything off the floors for the carpet cleaners. I made a first pass through Kayla and Walter's room but had to stop when the recycling and trash bins reached capacity. Granger did a lot in his room but there is more to do and I need to get that water bed out of there and into the dumpster. I have done one closet in the master bedroom. Mostly getting the old shoes and stuff cleaned out. Every once in a while something turns up that brings back memories so it isn't all smooth sailing. But overall I hope to have things in a state where we can begin to transition back into living at the house by the second week of September.
That's about it for now, I have to scrub ink off of Walt and then get the kids ready for bed. Daddy never sleeps.
