We love the ocean

We took Lucy to see the ocean for the first time. If you go to Lighthouse Field State Beach after 4 p.m., you'll see an amazing array of dogs because this is when the beach becomes a leash-free-zone. Lucy was a little confused about this water thing, but got right into the rhythm, moving up to the water then scurrying as fast as she could back to dry land. Walter dug a long river and Kayla spent most of her time dancing in the surf. It was a great day.

PB&J pizza

We first had PB&J pizza at Goofy's Kitchen in the Disneyland Hotel. I was trying to think of something fun to make for a Family Night potluck at the YMCA and found the recipe on the web. (Click here.)

Breaker Babes

I went with a group of friends to the Bay to Breakers race in San Francisco yesterday. Here is a group photo and some of the interesting people I saw along the way. My friend Randy made matching t-shirts for us all and dubbed us the "Breaker Babes."
The winners of the 12K race finished in just over half an hour. I proceeded at a much more sedate pace, walking most of the way with my mouth wide open at the array of sights. I've never seen some of the things I saw, including many Elvises, a group of over 100 people dressed as salmon (all of whom ran the race upstream like good salmon -- from finish to start), several dozen bananas and more tutus than you could shake a stick at.
It was an amazing even and one I can't wait to do again next year.
