As most of you are aware by now, Kristine passed away from an apparent heart attack in her sleep sometime over the weekend of June 2/3, 2007. I am George, Kayla and Walter's father, and have filled the role of step father in Granger's life. My intention is to continue posting pictures of the kids and the events in their life as they grow. Well, once I get all this bloggity photog stuff figured out, that is. Kristine was an avid shutterbug and I am not sure I will live up to her legacy in that respect, but I will try my best to keep friends and family informed of events large and small in their life.
Kayla got her ears pierced this past weekend and has pink flower earrings that she must keep in for the next six weeks. She has been very strictly following the cleaning regimen specified by the woman who did the piercing.
Walter finished his Little League season on Saturday and as a tribute to Kristine, the final game of the season was her t-ball team on the big field with the scoreboard and announcer who called out their names and numbers as they took their stance at the plate. The league president decided to make that practice a tradition going forward and from now on Cupertino American Little League will always end their season with the little kids on the big field. Kris would have liked that.
If anyone should like to reach me directly, feel free to email me at georgeb at gmail dot com.
How exciting for Kayla! I remember when I got my ears pierced. It was one of the most important days in my childhood. It meant I was BIG AT LAST!
I wish I could have been there to see Walter's game. Please kiss them both for me and give Granger a noogie.
Love,
Aunt Donna

I visit Kris here often when I miss her. I'm glad to have a place to know what's going on in the kids' lives.

I read Kris' posts on the Silcon Valley Mom's Blog and I contribute to the sister blog in Chicago. I am so sorry to hear of her passing and my heart goes out to you and your family.

George, I never met Kristine, but we shared a space in her life as contributors at Silicon Valley Moms Blog - thank you for sharing the news with us. We are so sad yet so grateful she has you to keep watch over her beautiful children. I hope that you continue to draw strength from the passion she obviously had for the kids - it will carry you through much. Heartfelt condolences to you and your family. - Pamela Weiss

George - Sheri and I met last night (July 10) to spend some time talking about Kristine. She was an exceptional soul, a bright candle that burned too fast. Thank you for caring for those left behind.
