Kayla: "I made them myself you know, in sewing class."
Granger: "Yes, I know that. They're really cute. In fact, they're super cute. They are so-so-so cute and you did such a good job sewing them!"
Kayla: "I know about sarcasm, you know."

Visiting Jellystone National Park

That is me in the front left, at age 6, at some of the bubbling hot pots in Yellowstone National Park. My mom must be taking the picture, because that's my grandmother -- her mother -- and Uncle Mike in the back row. Mike is my mom's youngest sibling. Next to me is my sister Donna, who would have been 4, Doug who would be turning 8 that summer and Ronnie-O who was just two.

The trip was amazing and is one of my fond childhood memories. It makes me itch to load up my kids and a niece or nephew or two and go to Yellowstone. If it wasn't such a lonnnnnnnnnnnng drive from everywhere.

Lucy meets Sawyer

Lucy met Darcy's 5-month-old lamb this week and it was the sheep that exhibited the herding instinct. Sawyer backed the dog right off the property. Sawyer is a specially bred wethersire Darcy has raised for the state agriculture competition. They'll be going to the contest next week. He's a fine looking lamb.

Mom's tulips

My little alien

We passed through Rachel, Nevada, the other day. Rachel is the home of the Little A'le'inn -- the place on the edge of Area 51 where some believe a spacecraft crashed in the high desert. Area 51 is a U.S. government test range for various spy aircraft, and sitings of bizarre airborne craft are not at all unusual.

The aliens in this picture (except for one -- you guess which one) were used in movies about aliens and extraterrestrial  events.  We enoyed our visit at the little store, and souvenirs were enjoyed by all.

It finally hatched!

The fabric for this little wallhanging (it's about 36" square) has been nesting in my stash for years. I've been thinking about it for a long a long time and could see what I wanted to make. Suddenly, yesterday, it was time to do chickens and this is what hatched.

Sweater weather

We were on our way to the dog park and Lucy was a little shivery. This is her favorite red sweater. She is at the vet's office now getting spayed. It is scary to think she'll wake up in pain. I'll get her in a few hours and I'm sure she'll be fine.

He's still a little boy

Even if he thinks he's grown up, when he saw the swings he had to take a ride, and a jump.

Please forgive my hair

I'm practicing portrait photography -- trying to get some nice ones to hang up in the house in some great frames I already bought. This was an impromptu photo shoot. Forgive my hair.

Phase IV

With the sashing on. It's supposed to look like bottles on a shelving unit. Does it? Does it need another border around the outside? Maybe a thin black one? Thoughts??
