Still lost

Jack is still missing. We visited the animal shelter, got there 15 minutes too late for them to show us the dogs in there, but they said they had no one resembling Jack.  Granger and I put up over 100 fliers in our neighborhood. Tonight we will fan out from our neighborhood. I am sick. I am worried that someone snatched him. He was just groomed and looked so, well, purebred. Send your warm wishes and prayers that he'll find his way home.

 

Holidailies?

I have just agreed to participate in a blogger program called Holidailies.  By doing so, I have promised to post a new entry to my blog every single day in December.

With so much going on in our lives this shouldn't be hard, but we'll see.

Se pierde mi perro

My doggie is lost.

I came home from work last night, it was late, and he wasn't there to bark and greet me with his jingling collar or jump up on my knees when I sat down or to crawl under the covers of the bed.

He's not at the pound, we can't find record of him being hurt, we have made 100 signs to put up around the neighborhood.

We call him mi perro sometimes because that's the Spanish word for dog, and Granger is always practicing his Spanish.

We need to find our dog.

We enjoyed a traditional Thanksgiving Feast this morning in Walter's kindergarten class. We had everything you can imagine. We brought pumpkin cookies, which everyone loved. (Thanks to Aunt Cort for the recipe!!)

My old friend Diet Coke

When I flew back from NYC recently, I arrived at SFO parched.  The flight was over six hours, and while I had a couple of little cups of Diet Coke, that wasn't nearly enough.  Near the baggage pickup I saw the familiar red glow of a Coke machine.  As I swished through the bottom of my purse for change, I came up with very few coins. I slipped my finger into my wallet looking for a single, but had only a twenty and I knew that was useless.

But when I got to the machine, was I in for a surprise.  This Coke machine takes CREDIT CARDS. A quick dip, no PIN required, ker-klunk, there she was in her 34 degree glory: My Diet Coke.

So there you'll find it on my Visa statement: One Coke, 20 ounce, $1.75.  It's a wonderful world.

You've got ... bupkes!

This is a lonely sight -- my gmail inbox with no messages.

I've been out of touch since I went back to work at Claria in June -- it seems like I run from the moment I get up until the minute I get to stop. Gone are the days of glorious afternoon naps. And I'm learning amazing discipline at work -- what I need to do to get in, get done, get out.  Alas, I have failed tonight because it's nearly 9 and here I am, procrastinating a project that won't take me long once I get started ...

Why Hello, Deli!

Here I am with Rupert in the Hello Deli, just outside the theater where David Letterman is taped.  He made me coffee, we had a good chat (not really, he was busy). The deli is often featured on Dave's show.  I went in the shop first and just got coffee, but couldn't resist coming back for a photo. I put my name in the lottery to see if I can get tickets for tonight or tomorrow night.  Wish me luck!
