Poor Walter. He was sick with a sinus infection last week and started taking antibiotics. Monday he woke up looking more like a leopard than a kid -- he was covered in spots! Red welts were everywhere -- on his face, behind his ears, on the soles of his feet and everywhere in between.
A quick trip to Dr. Mike revealed that Walter had an allergic reaction to Zithromax, a type of antibiotic. It's not quite as serious as a penicillin allergy, but he can't have mycin-type drugs anymore.
One quick dose of oral steroids and the rash has cleared up very well. He was lucky that it never really itched, but it hurt when he walked on it and so he had a bad time with one hurt foot.
He's still got a little bit of the cold left, and a little fever, but he's looking much better and wants to know if anyone wants to play chess.
