We made a pumpkin cake the other day. I got one of those Very Cool Betty Crocker baking sets that lets me make round cakes, filled ones, even. You may have seen it on TV. I didn't (found it on sale at Target), but when I brought it home Walter started doing the infomercial for me. He told me I can make ice cream cakes, i could make a round cake, a filled cake, four laywers, fruit filling, pudding in the middle. And then he wanted to make a baseball cake. I convinced him it would be more timely to make a Jack O' Lantern cake and he acquiesed.
I let Kayla and Walter frost the thing, but they turned to me for the pumpkin's face and vines. Remember, this *was* my first time using the baking kit. And no, I don't have black icing in the house so I thought blue eyes nose and mouth were perfect on the cake.
A good time was had by all the the cake was gone by morning.
It was then time to get down to some serious
last-minute work on the costumes. Here are pictures of both kids spraypainting their respective outfits. Can you guess what they're going to be?
